Good News

While overcoming some challenges during this last year of teaching, I discovered a new methodology for teaching: one that teaches students how to learn while learning the technical subject matter. The gains realized this past year have been both impressive and inspiring, and I want to share this with other teachers so that more students may benefit.

This has led to the start of a new educational project, called Socratic Electronics, which will soon be hosted at on the same "Ibiblio" server as Lessons In Electric Circuits. Like this textbook series, the Socratic Electronics project will be open-source, although licensed under different "copyleft" language. The project is not only open-source, but completely modular, enabling instructors to take what parts they need and leave what parts they don't, in the construction of their own Socratic-based electronics curricula.
