VHDL International also supports the process as outlined by Vassilios below.
It is true that exceptions sometimes arise to standard procedures, and the
issue of synthesis interoperability standards is perhaps the best example of
this in my entire history with standards bodies. I specifically recall efforts
made over the prior 2 years to resolve the situation such that the options fit
within more normal procedures, however not all affected parties were as
motivated at that time. It is because of that prior history of events that we
find ourselves at this decision point today.
I too, would like to request a more proactive official engagement from Synopsys
as we develop these next-generation standards and capabilities for users
worldwide. I believe that your personal attention to this could help to
improve the situation, assuming you also agree with us. I would be willing to
personally commit time to help from my role at Texas Instruments, should you
need a little added customer weight. I suspect other user companies would be
willing to help as well.
