Next Meeting:
The next meeting will be a teleconference on 10/26
from 9-11 am (PDT).
Details:
1. Review action items
Mark posted a first pass at the schedule for completing the
DCDL spec on the web site, as well as the GCF 1.4 spec (for
DC-WG review purposes only).
2. Review the Introduction and Basic Language Features sections
in the draft (pp 19-21, 25-32)
We went through a lot of detailed feedback, covering up to
page 26 in the 0.1.1 version. A few highlights:
- We agreed that there DCDL should impose a define before use
restriction, as it will significantly ease application development
- We want to be able to extract examples from the text and
automatically verify correctness
- In general, DCDL will explicitly specify syntax rules that
are identical to the rules in a specific version of Tcl (to
be chosen). In some cases, where the Tcl rules are too arcane,
DCDL may specify a more restrictive rule that still ensures
Tcl compatibility
- Fine points about legal white space are deferred for now
- DCDL keywords include the '-' (dash)
3. Discuss derived clocks
4. Discuss schedule and technical editing requirements
We ran out of time to discuss these.
Thanks,
Mark
