Meeting minutes from the 7/18/00 DC-WG teleconference
-----------------------------------------------------

Attendees:
  Mark Hahn, Cadence
  Paul Bonnel, Cadence
  Simon Butler, Cadence
  Joe Daniels, SEVA
  Tom Dewey, Mentor
  Bob Dilly, IBM
  John Paul, IBM
  Vikas Sharma, IBM

New action items:

      Who When What
      ---------- ------ --------
 1. Mark 8/1 Check whether negative values are allowed
                           for clock_uncertainty
 2. Paul 7/25 Update quick reference to reflect proposal
                           for using casts to specify object types
 3. Tom 7/25 Put together first pass at material for
                           recruiting new DC-WG members

Open action items:

      Who When What
      ---------- ------ --------
 1. Mark 6/20 Check on semantics for clock waveforms with
                  -> 6/27 edges shifted by one or more cycles from equivalent
                  -> 8/1 minimum edge times

 2. Bob 6/20 Prepare waveform diagrams for waveform and
                  -> 6/27 derived_waveform
                  -> 8/1

 3. Mark 6/20 Check on phase shift in derived_waveform
                  -> 6/27 (effect on ideal edge position versus effective
                  -> 8/1 edge position)

 4. Mark 6/20 Check whether derived_waveform frequency adjustments
                  -> 6/27 can be real numbers
                  -> 8/1

Next Meeting:

  The next meeting will be a teleconference on 7/25/00
  from 10-12 am (PDT)

Details:

  1. Action items

     No progress since last week.

  2. Parser status

     Bob hasn't made much progress on the legal issues with
     getting the parser released as open source. The date for a date
     is 8/1.

     Paul has been reviewing the parser and sending suggestions
     about how to repackage it for multiple use models.

  3. Discuss -from/-through/-to OR-AND semantics with multiple object types

     We talked about various approaches for addressing this issue.
     Although there wasn't much enthusiasm for the C++ casting approach,
     we haven't found another workable approach.

  4. Review changes in 0.3.5 draft

     There were only minor corrections.

  5. Review clock_domain, target_based_uncertainty,
     common_insertion_delay

     We agreed to remove the clock_domain command, as it is covered
     by the -domain option to the waveform command.

     We tentatively agreed to change the name of target_based_uncertainty
     to target_uncertainty.

     We agreed to use -from/-to options in common_insertion_delay,
     to add -rise/-fall/-early/-late options, and make the value type
     a delay_unsigned_time_value_list (one or four values).

Thanks,
Mark
