**************************************************************************** RELEASE NOTES FOR VERSION 3.2 OF THE PENTIUM(R) PRO PROCESSOR I/O BUFFER MODELS IN IBIS FORMAT **************************************************************************** Following are changes between version 3.1 and version 3.2 release of the Pentium(r) Pro Processor I/O buffer information. The major change has been to the Pentium Pro I/O buffer model. 1. Model Updates The Pentium Pro Processor IBIS model has been updated to reflect the current GTL+ buffers on the Pentium Pro Processor at 180/200Mhz. In general, these buffers are a bit weaker and slower than the buffers on the original Pentium Pro Processor at 150Mhz. Therefore, the data in the "max" column of the [Pulldown] data has been adjusted to reflect the weaker buffer (i.e. higher Vol at maximum strength) and the "max" column of the [Rising waveform] and [Falling waveform] data reflects a slower rise and fall time. Note that the minimum (slowest/weakest buffer) data is unchanged. It is recommended that all future designs use the data found in the pent200.ibs file. Because this release is intended for the Pentium Pro Processor at 180/200Mhz only, the package stub length information has also been updated. This information is now in the files called "ppshort.txt" and "pplong.txt". In addition to the maximum data changes, this release corrects two minor errors found in the previous IBIS files. The minimum and maximum data used for the [Temperature Range] keyword has been corrected (they were swapped), and the proper units have been added to the Dv/Dt numbers in the [Ramp] keyword.
