Typographical errors and specific incorrect uses of terminology should be entered in IR 1000. Note: It is unclear when technically imprecise wording should be reported herein or in IR1000. 1. Unclear constructions 1.1: In section 10.3, in the first paragraph, the second sentence says: The identifiers considered in this section include any identifier other than a reserved word or attribute designator that denotes a predefined attribute. Assuming that this does not mean ... a reserved word that denotes a predefined attribute or an attribute designator that denotes a predefined attribute. then the wording ... a reserved word or attribute designator that denotes a predefined attribute. should be ... a reserved word or an attribute designator that denotes a predefined attribute. 1.2: In section 10.3, in the fifth paragraph, the first sentence says: A declaration is only visible within a certain part of its scope; ... To be precise shouldn't this be: A declaration is visible only within a certain part of its scope; ... or: A declaration is visible within only a certain part of its scope; ... This example isn't really unclear, but the imprecision seems likely to cause an ambiguity somewhere. 1.x: 2. Possibly-problematic imprecise wording 2.1: In section 5.2.1.1, in the second paragaph, the third sentence says: If an architecture identifier appears, then the immediately enclosing binding indication is said to imply the design entity consisting of the entity declaration denoted by the entity name together with an architecture body associated with the entity declaration; the archi- tecture identifier defines a simple name that is used during the elaboration of a design hierarchy to select the appropriate archi- tecture body. The unqualified wording "during elaboration" does not seem to cover all cases. If a component configuration contains an explicit block configuration, the architecture must be selected during analysis, not during elaboration. 2.x: Proposed Resolution ------------------- TBD VASG-ISAC Analysis & Rationale ------------------------------ TBD VASG-ISAC Recommendation for IEEE Std 1076-1993 ----------------------------------------------- TBD VASG-ISAC Recommendation for Future Revisions --------------------------------------------- TBD
