Hi Everyone,
I know there is a lot of confusion out there at the moment about the
future for the SCE-API group due to the discussions going on the interfaces
task force that Vassilios is conducting. I would like to point out to
everyone at this time, that it is business as usual for us. At our next
meeting on the 13th we will be voting on acceptance of the 1.1 version of
the specification. Also at that meeting, we will start a discussion about
the ongoing organization of the group, including the chair and co-chair
going forward.
The following meeting on the 27th should concentrate on the
requirements for a 2.0 specification. This is a necessary step for us, even
if the role and organization of the group changes in the future. While we do
have many of the high level items on the table for the next version, I think
it is important for all of us to try and get some extra end-user
participation for this meeting, and perhaps the couple after that, so that
we can hear their voice when it comes to putting together the requirements.
To that end, I would ask all of you to notify any and all interested people
about this meeting and ask that they attend if at all possible. This is
their chance to be heard.
If any users would like the opportunity to make a short presentation
to the group, that would also be welcome. Please have them contact me to put
them into the agenda.
Best regards
Brian
