Hi Duaine and the rest of the ITC community Given the generality of the question, I think it better to respond to the whole community. The voting rules were set when the committee was created and are documented on the sign up page for inclusion into the group. It basically says that you do not have to be an Accellera member to vote on a technical vote. To have a vote, a company must have been involved in 3 of the last 4 meetings. Each company gets one vote. Due to the confusion related to the meeting 3 weeks ago, I will not be counting this against companies who contacted me to explain their situation. That said the following companies would have a vote today: Mentor, Cadence, Zaiq, Aptix, Tharas, Broadcom. There is no actual policy about advance notice for a vote, and we have done it several ways in the past depending on the nature of the vote (immediate, deferred, off-line). For the adoption of the spec base that we would use going forward, I believe that all people who have qualified for a vote, should have the opportunity to vote. We can discuss if that means ‘in the meeting when the vote is called’, or we can discuss if it should be delayed. This is a decision that the group can make. I will not dictate how it will happen. From my understanding, at the end of the last meeting, there was some talk about a vote, but it was not formally proposed or seconded. That means that there is not vote on the table at the moment. Please correct me if I am wrong on this. I will entertain a discussion about the vote tomorrow and then we can come to a decision. Please let me now if there is any further confusion on this issue. We would like to understand the current ITC rules for voting. Where are these documented? Are they standard across all committees, ...? What are the eligibility requirements? What are the advanced notice requirements? Who would be eligible today? Thanks, DuaineReceived on Wed Jun 8 10:54:51 2005
