Technically we now only allow that for imported functions.
 
What you've described is, by definition (as per SystemVerilog LRM)
an imported task, not an imported function.
 
I think for the time being, SCE-MI only supports imported
functions. Imported functions can not - directly or indirectly -
consume time. Only imported tasks can.
