Peter Flake seconds. No opposed. Abstain: Alex Gran (not present) Motion passes. + Mantis 696 (http://www.eda.org/svdb/view.php?id=696) Per Tom's mail to the reflector (http://www.eda.org/sv-bc/hm/10547.html) please be prepared to discuss proposal to resolve Mantis 696. Updated wording of last paragraph. Code examples need to be consistent with other code examples Remove: etc... Add a sentence to mention the benefits of virtual classes. AI: Tom to post updated proposal to 696. AI: Matt to open email vote for 696 by Oct 4. + Classification of interface issues Shalom posted initial classification here: http://www.eda.org/sv-bc/hm/10566.html Few of the issues directly related to virtual interfaces. Steven says issues of parameterization virtual interfaces come up frequently but 2009 LRM has resolved ambiguities. Gord finds it difficult to resolve legacy baggage and reach an ideal solution. Brad asked about prioritization based on user feedback. Kaiming raised that virtual interfaces receive a lot of attention. Gord said that customers are using for design. Brad believes most users have given up on using interfaces because they "don't work as adverstised" Gord moves to communicate to 1800 WG: "SV-BC cannot build momentum behind a vision to significantly improve interfaces and related features while maintaining backward compatibility with current definition. How to significantly improve or redesign interfaces is not clear and the SV-BC is not making progress to address the situation. The SV-BC will pursue resolution of point issues. The SV-BC requests that the 1800 WG consider the scope of improving interfaces and facilitate a long-term, cross-committee effort to improve interfaces in future standards." Brad seconds. No opposed. Abstain: Peter Flake (still trying to digest all issues and potentially articulate a vision). Motion passes. AI: All review Shalom's list and suggest interface issues to tackle now. 10:51 AM PDT: Steven moves to adjourn + Progress/Discussion for Top 10 Looking for proposal sketches or discussion for any of these issues. 696 - Champion: Tom 2310(1084, 1201) - Participants: Eric, Tom, Shalom, Steven, Wilson Snyder 3053 - Participants: Francoise, Mark, Alex, Kaiming 3055 - Participants: Gord, Mark 2991 - Champion: Tom, Participants: Steven 1566 - For future discussion 2114 - Similar to 3053.
