I am pleased to report that the P1666 draft LRM has unanimously been approved by the WG. This important event allows us to go forward with the formation of a Ballot Group. This Ballot Group, which all organizations belonging to the IEEE Standards Association will be eligible to join, will be formed within the next month. Following a vote of this Ballot Group, and a so-called "recirculation ballot" if there are any dissenting votes on the first ballot, the standard will be forwarded to the appropriate committees in the IEEE for final approval. Thus, the WG approval that has been reached is an important step in producing the P1666-2011 standard.
Thank you for all of your hard work. This LRM has (in my experience) received an extraordinary amount of scrutiny, and is, not surprisingly, of very high quality.
