Any opportunity that might have existed there has been closed
by the proposal of the P1800 study group. I met some of the
1364 folks at DAC; they are reluctant to consider any extensions
(even encryption, which has been on the docket for a while)
that might make it difficult to merge the two Verilogs.
It wasn't even clear if 1364-2005 will be submitted for a vote
because it could introduce conflicts with SV.

I'm certainly hoping that the 1364/1800 issue gets resolved
before we have to deal with it. AMS needs to do the work
to sync with 1364-2001, as approved by Accellera; this will
take a few months (while we watch 1364/1800), and most of
the same work has to be done, regardless of where AMS ends up.
