Sealevel Systems Adds to PCI Bus Serial I/O Card Line
Sealevel Systems has announced two new additions to their already
popular PCI Bus Serial I/O product line. The COMM+232.PCI is a two port RS-232 adapter. The ULTRA COMM+422.PCI is a four port automatic RS-422/485 serial I/O adapter. In RS-485
mode, onboard auto-enable hardware automatically handles the RS-485
driver enable, allowing the RS-485 ports to be viewed by the operating
system as a COM: port. This allows the standard COM: driver to
be utilized for RS-485 communications. Both adapters can support
standard PC data rates up to 460.8K bps providing an ideal solution
for communication servers, PC to ISDN terminal adapter connections,
industrial/factory automation projects, and other high-speed serial
applications. The 16550 UART is standard. The 16650 UART, with
a 32 byte FIFO, and the 16750 UART, with a 64 byte FIFO are optional.
The Windows 95 plug-n-play architecture automatically recognizes
these PCI cards and configures them for the operating system resources
automatically. This makes installation as simple as plugging the
board into the system. Sealevel Systems includes the necessary
drivers and utilities to make installation simple under other
operating systems including DOS, Windows 3.1x, and Windows NT.
Both cards require only a single PCI slot for operation. A three-foot
cable that branches out into four DB-9P connectors is included
with the ULTRA COMM+422.PCI.
