SDT2XNF error 014, or xdraft 5.0: error 003; ds35 not installed


Problem Description:
When running SDT2XNF 5.x, the following error may occur:

*** DS35-SDT-ERROR-014:
*** The Xilinx DS35 OrCAD interface is not installed or the XACT path is not
*** set up properly.

Or, when running XDRAFT 5.0.0, the following error may occur:
---------------------------------------------------
DS35-XCFG-ERROR-003: The XACT path 'c:\xact' is not set up properly or the
Xilinx DS35 OrCAD interface is not installed in the XACT path.
---------------------------------------------------


Solution 1:

Verify the XACT environment variable is set to point to the directory
where the DS35 interface executables and the Xilinx library subdirectories
are located.  The executables and the Xilinx library subdirectories must
reside in the same directory.  Users usually encounter this problem if
they are still using the pre-XACT 5.0 libraries, but have not copied the
library directories into the new DS35 directory.

For example, if the design uses x3k.lib, then the SDT3 subdirectory
must be moved or copied into the XACT directory where the DS35 v5.0
executables are located.

Instead of copying the libraries, another possible solution is to
change the XACT environment variable so that it points to both the
new install area, and the old area where the libraries reside, eg:

set XACT=\path\to\new\ds35;\path\to\old\libs

This will work if the old executables also still reside in the
directory with the old libraries. For some reason, the program does
a check and both the executables and the libs from the old ds35
must be in the same directory. If the executables do not still exist,
you can use the -S option to SDT2XNF to specify where the libraries are
located (there is no similar option available to XDRAFT).
