Problem Title:
PowerView,wir2xnf,xnf2wir: Working around 'SEC: host is not responding'
Problem Description:
When running the Xilinx-Viewlogic interface programs in conjunction with
Powerview, XNF2WIR, WIR2XNF or PowerView may issue an error similar to the
following:
SEC: host is not responding from Viewlogic/wir2xnf/xnf2wir
This error may show up in conjunction with Error 4, from WIR2XNF, Iwinit
failure.
Solution 1:
This usually means that there is some sort of network problem--the Viewlogic
license server is unable to read a network file. It can also mean that the
correct version of the Viewlogic license daemon, lservd, is not running.
Check to make sure that lservd is running by logging on to the license
server machine and doing a grep on that process:
ps -aux |grep lservd
For Powerview 6.0, the process is `lsclient' instead of `lservd'.
Also, make sure that this is the correct version of the PowerView license
server that is running by running the Viewlogic ladmin program and typing
"logo". This will display both the version of the license manager and
Powerview.
