Product Family: Software
Product Line: FPGA Core
Problem Title:
PPR 5.1, XC3000A: PPR Routes 3000A Pip in the Wrong Direction
Problem Description:
Keywords: pip, ppr, route
Urgency: standard
General Description:
DRC Reports: No Sources reachable from programmed pip
col.A.local.11:row.A.long.2
PPR routes a PIP in the wrong direction. The report file shows 0 unroutes,
but the Design Rules Check (DRC) run by XDE or MakeBits gives ther error
message listed above.
This is caused by a bug in PPR 5.1.
Solution 1:
All PPR 5.1 users should upgrade to either the latest XACT release (PPR 5.2.1),
or use the M1 toolset, where this bug does not exist. If this is not feasible, t
hen the following is a workaround:
Use XDE or unroute and then re-route that net, or rerun PPR with a different
seed and it shouldn't repeat the error. Be sure to always run DRC to check
for this problem.
