XNFOUT: XBLOX PADNAME attribute not transmitted to XNF from Cadence Composer schematic

Record #560

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Cadence

Problem Title:
XNFOUT: XBLOX PADNAME attribute not transmitted to XNF from Cadence
Composer schematic

Problem Description:
XNFOUT: XBLOX PADNAME attribute in a Composer schematic not written to the XNF s
chematic

Release: 9404
Platforms: All
CAUSE:

In the 9404 release, support for the PADNAME attribute was inadvertently
omitted.

Solution 1:

XNFOUT can be made to recognize this attribute by adding it to a properties
file, and loading this property file before the Netlisting step each time you
process a design.

The procedure is as follows:

From the Netlist button in the Xilinx Design flow, click on the "Netlist"
button with the middle mouse button and select "Options" from the popup.
Click on the "Properties" button in this popup. This will pop up another
window titled "Xilinx: Netlist Properties".

Enter a name in the Properties File field for the properties file you will
generate. Make sure the button labeled Dump and Edit is selected and click on
"OK" to Dump and Edit the property file.

Edit the property file to add an entry for PADNAME as follows, making sure to
add the "=" in front of the PADNAME string. The entry should look like this:

 	'( "PADNAME" "=PADNAME=" )

After doing this, every time you subsequently start up the tools, you must do
the following:

From the Netlist button in the Xilinx Design flow, select Netlist/Options/Proper
ties/Load
to load the property file.
