PROMs/XC1700: Ordering ID (part number) and PROM Marking ID are different for the same part

Product Line: 1700
Problem Title:
PROMs/XC1700: Ordering ID (part number) and PROM Marking ID are
different for the same part
Problem Description:
Ordering ID's and marking ID's are different for the same PROM device.
PROBLEM: Ordering ID's and marking ID's are different for the same PROM device
, so the designation you use to order a part will not match
the marking on the actual part.
Marking ID's exist because the complete PROM ordering ID cannot fit on the
small PROM packages and still be readable. A Marking ID is basically an
abbreviated version of the Ordering ID that is designed to address this problem.
Solution 1:
See page 2-239 of the 1994 Databook for an explanation of the
Ordering ID and Marking ID for PROMs. In the 1996 Databook,
this same information is on p. 6-10.
