Design Manager/Flow Engine 6.0.1: cancel button can cause memory leaks

Record #721

Product Family: Software

Product Line: FPGA Core

Problem Title:
Design Manager/Flow Engine 6.0.1: cancel button can cause memory leaks

Problem Description:
While running a process (such as Translate, Optimize, Map, etc.) in the
Design Manager/Flow Engine, a CANCEL button is available to terminate the
process. Frequent use of this button within a single Design Manager
session may lead to an "insufficient memory error" when invoking a new
process.

Cause:
Memory allocated to a process which has been terminated with the CANCEL
button is sometimes not released

Solution 1:

This problem usually occurs (but not limited to) if a CANCEL is issued
while a program is in the process of loading, but has not actually started
execution. It is recommended to wait until some execution has occurred
(indicated by the text progress on the output screen) before issuing a
CANCEL.

If you suspect that memory has been lost on your system due to this problem,
quit and restart the Design Manager. On some systems, it might be
necessary to quit and restart Windows.
