Design Manager 6.0.1: Target Family cannot be changed after project is
created



Problem Description:
Once a project is created, it is not possible to change the target Family.
Typical scenarios where you might want to change the target family is if
you accidentally created a project with the wrong family selected or if you
want to retarget the design to a new family.

Cause:
The Design Manager does not allow multiple families within a single
project.  The reason is that the design flow and compile options vary
depending on the target family.  Thus, the Design Manager prohibits you
from changing the target family in order to avoid the potential problem
of having invalid flow and compile options for a design.


Solution 1:

If you wish to change the target family for your project, make the
appropriate changes to your design and create a new Design Manager project.
