Design Manager 6.0.1: Calling DOS program within a Windows application
causes screen to go blank
Problem Description:
When a Windows application calls a DOS program, the video display monitor
goes blank and doesn't recover. It appears as if no video signal were
present. A scenario where this can occur is running the Translate process
from the Design Manager.
Cause:
The problem is not limited to the Design Manager. It can appear in any
Windows application which attempts to run an underlying DOS job.
One known cause of this problem is the Diamond Multimedia Viper Graphics
card and driver operating in a high resolution mode.
Solution 1:
If you are using the Diamond Multimedia Viper Graphics card and driver,
use a lower resolution display mode.
