Proflow changes the Viewdraw.ini file while using Pre-Unified Libraries

Record #867

Product Family: Software

Product Line: ViewLogic

Problem Title:
Proflow changes the Viewdraw.ini file while using Pre-Unified Libraries

Problem Description:
PROflow does not support Pre-unified Libraries! The tools used, such as
XSIMMAKE and XMAKE must be run with special switches when using the
Pre-Unified libraries.	PROflow can not do this and therefore canNOT be
used with designs that have been created using the older libs.

Here's what happens:
If you attempt to create a PROflow project using pre-unified libraries,
PROflow will ask you to select a family. Upon choosing the family, the
old libraries will be removed and a new unified set of libraries will be
put in it's place. For each FPGA family, PROflow expects to see a certain
set of aliases. When it doesn't find these aliases, it will rewrite the
libraries in the viewdraw.ini file, completely wiping out the old libraries.

Solution 1:

Since PROflow doesn't support pre-unified libraries, create icons for
PROcapture, PROsim, and PROwave in windows and run the tools directly from
the Program Manager. Use the Simulation Utility to replace the functionality
of the functional and timing simulation buttons in PROflow. Adding libraries
with the correct aliases while still using the pre-unified libraries may not
work, since certain switches have to be set while using the these libraries.
The Design Manager and the Simulation Utility have these switches.
