WIR2XNF error: could not find WIR file for a user-created component

Record #922

Product Family: Software

Product Line: ViewLogic

Problem Title:
WIR2XNF error: could not find WIR file for a user-created component

Problem Description:
WIR2XNF error: could not find WIR file for a user-created component.

If WIR2XNF returns this error, the problem may be that the symbol type is
wrong.

Solution 1:

User-created symbols in Viewlogic can have underlying schematics, or
alternatively they can point to HDL files or even merely function as
graphics in a schematic. Symbols with schematics must have a symbol type of
composite while symbols with no underlying schematics should be of type
module or annotate. Modules are used as black boxes for underlying HDL
modules, netlist, etc. Annotates are to put a graphic in the schematic,
such as a title block.

To verify this, highlight the symbol instance in the schematic in which it
is placed and select Info -> Object Detail. The resulting data will include
a "Block:" line which indicates the alias, the component name, and a value
in parentheses showing a "C" for composite, an	"M" for module, and an "A"
for annotate.

To change the symbol type, push into the symbol and select
Change -> Symbol Type.
