Design Manager Report Browser editor is non-standard or missing: how to
set default test editor for browser



Problem Description:
You may want to change the editor used by the XACTStep Design Manager for viewin
g reports in the Report Browser for the following reasons:

1) After installing the Foundation tools, you may find that your default Report
Browser editor has changed to the ActiveCAD editor.

2) Tabular data columns may be misaligned.

3) Or, you may simply want to the Design Manager to invoke another editor when y
ou use the Report Browser.


Solution 1:

It is possible to direct the XACTStep Design Manager to use your preferred text
editor from the Report Browser.

In c:\windows\dsgnmgr.ini, add the line "TEXT_EDITOR_PATH=c:\<path to editor>" t
o the [Text Editor} section.

If no TEXT_EDITOR_PATH is specified, the default DM editor is used.

Tabular data can also aligned by changing the font and/or the font size in the s
ame section.
