Foundation: PPR error 5812 on imported Viewlogic design with CST file


Problem Description:
Importing a design from Viewlogic into Foundation may lead to
the following error during place and route:

*** PPR: ERROR 5812:
      Constraint file instance 'MACRO/$1I32' could not be
      matched to a constrainable instance in net list.


Solution 1:

The Foundation Schematic Editor requires that all instance
names end with a number.  Components that do not meet this
requirement are renamed during the import process, creating
possible mismatches between the netlist and constraints file.

Instance renaming is reported in the VLIMPORT.LOG file in the
project directory.  Examine this file and edit the
constraints file accordingly.
