Product Family: Software
Product Line: FPGA Core
Problem Title:
XCHECKER 5.2.1: Files required for standalone XChecker software (PC or
Workstation).
Problem Description:
Solution 1:
o Xchecker software and cable is used only to download a design:
Only XCHECKER.EXE is needed, and it can be installed in the
working directory. If you are having DOS Extender problems, use
XCK88.exe instead; it doesn't use any DOS extenders.
o Xchecker software and cable is used to download, verify,
readback, and probing internal signals.
The following files are required and can be installed in the working
directory:
- XCHECKER.EXE or XCK88.EXE
- PARTLIST.XCT (ASCII file is located in the /XACT/DATA directory)
- xc<part>.ll (ASCII file. Found in the /XACT/DATA directory.
xc5210.ll can be generated with the following command:
makebits -makell=5210)
- xpart.def (ASCII file. Found in /XACT/DATA)
- design.bit (Binary download file. Note only a bit file can be used
for verify, readback, and probing.)
- design.ll (ASCII file. Generated by the following command:
makebits -l design.lca)
NOTE: No environment variables need to be set if files are stored in working
directory. If files are stored in separate directory, point the XACT
and path environment variables at the directory.
o A PC version of the files can be found on the xilinx FTP site. You can use a
Web Navigator to download the file:
ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/xact-pc/xchecker.zip
Solution 2:
Customer need to download ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/xact-pc/xchkr4ke.zip if plan
ning on doing 4000E readback.
