Procapture: SECURITY no valid license for product: ProSeries


Problem Description:
The error message

SECURITY: no valid license for product: Proseries

appears when procapture is called up.  The XACT variables look ok and xkey -r
and vlhostid return valid authorizations.  The license.wv file is in the \proser
\standard directory.
The Xilinx tools all run ok.


Solution 1:

Ask the customer to verify which product he has purchased. The customer
NEEDS to have purchased DS-VLS-STD-PC1, DS-VLS-BAS-PC1 or DS-VLS-EXT-PC1
in order to run Viewlogic PRO series software.



Solution 2:

Check the date on the computer.  Compare this date against the start and
expiration dates in the license.wv file.  The license.wv file is broken up
into section for different HOSTID's look at the start and expiration dates
in sections that match the users HOSTID.  You can get the users HOSTID by
typing 'vlhostid' at a DOS prompt.

You can check the date from dos by typing 'date'.  If the date on the
computer is set real far in the future say 2096 this can be the cause
of this problem.
