Problem Title:
M1: Powerview: User-owned directory/files may be created in Xilinx tree
Problem Description:
Keywords: Powerview, Logiblox, stb
Urgency: Standard
General Description:
When Powerview needs to run a ViewScript (such as logiblox.vs or vdraw.vs
within the Xilinx tree), it looks first for a compiled version in the form
of a .STB file. If none exists AND the user has permission to write in (or
create) the Xilinx tree, it will run the script and create a directory:
$XILINX/viewlog/data/logiblox/standard/<version> and place the STB files
here. <version> is "60" for Powerview 6.0, "532" for 5.3.2, and so on.
The files are called logiblox.stb and vdrawus.stb.
A problem will only occur if a different user needs to modify the Xilinx
tree. If the Xilinx tools need to be moved or removed, the new user will not
have permission to remove this directory and the included files.
Solution 1:
To avoid this potential issue, the system administrator should not give
general users the permission to write in the Xilinx directory tree.
