The Xilinx Customer Download area on our FTP site may be accessed by any interne
t capible FTP client including Netscape.



Solution 1:

How to access via an FTP client :

1. Connect to our FTP site using the following address :
   ftp.xilinx.com

   A typical command-line for doing this is :

   open ftp.xilinx.com

2. Log onto the site using the following login :

   login : customer
   password : xilinx

3. Change directories to the download directory.

   A typical command-line for doing this is :

   cd download

4. You will not be able to get a listing of this directory but
   you will be able to download your specied file if to know
   the name of the file.

   A typical command-line is the following :

   bin		     <--- Be sure in binary mode
   get <filename>    <--- Filename is case sensitive

Note : Be sure you are in binary mode before transfering files and file names ar
e case sensitive so be sure you are entering the correct file name.



Solution 2:


How to access the Xilinx Customer Download Area via Netscape :

1.  Within Netscape, enter the following directory location :
    ftp://customer@ftp.xilinx.com/download/

    Add the name of the file to be downloaded.	This
    filename is case sensitive.

2.  You will then be prompted with a password window. Enter the
    following :

    User name : customer
    Password : xilinx

    Hit the OK button.

3.  Choose a local location on your hard drive to save the file
    and hit the SAVE button.
