Problem Title:
Viewsim: backannotation from Viewsim/Viewtrace to Viewdraw doesn't work
Problem Description:
Viewdraw is capable of show the current simulation values from either Viewsim
or Viewtrace. There are several ways the back annotation of the simulation
values to Viewdraw can fail. Listed below are several problems associated
with this issue.
Solution 1:
If the name of the .wfm or .ann files don't match the schematic name, the
back annotation from viewtrace will fail. Correct the command file to make
sure the names match.
Solution 2:
In WVO, back annotation from Viewtrace requires that the Viewtrace:
View -> Properties -> Values Region -> Back Annotation be checked to enable
the viewing of Viewtrace values in Viewdraw. Please note that only the nets
that are in the .WFM will be back annotated, and the time at the point will
be displayed. If no time is marked, nothing will be displayed. If both
Viewsim and Viewtrace are open when the Viewdraw is started, Viewdraw will
be back annotated from Viewsim. Kill Viewsim to see the back annotation from
Viewtrace.
Solution 3:
If the name in the simulation doesn't match the schematic name then on the
Viewsim prompt, type:
schemnam <top level schematic name>."
This will allow the simulator to backannotate to the schematic. PROsim does
not support this. For PROsim you would need to open the top level schematics
and save them to the simulation name. This shouldn't be a PROseries issue
since this is only known to happen in WVO in Win '95 with the xsimmake patch,
because VSMUPD doesn't correctly update the VSM file.
