Record #1223
Problem Title:
An application (like apr or xde) can't start the license manager on a
UNIX workstation.
Problem Description:
The Xilinx programs will call xlmasu to start the manager if they can't connect
to the manager. This means that the user of the application must be able use xl
masu, as described in solution record #1222.
xlmasu does NOT check out a license; it merely starts the server.
This is a set of checks to be sure the licesne server is availible.
Solution 1:
Try xlmcon -quick to verify that the server is running.
Be sure you see no errors.
Solution 2:
In one window, do:
xlmdown (this will ask for confirmation)
xlmlog
In another window, do:
xlmasu
The output from the license manager will appear in the first window.
