OSC4.vli is not included in the XC4000E unified library.

Record #1411

Product Family: Software

Product Line: ViewLogic

Problem Title:
OSC4.vli is not included in the XC4000E unified library.

Problem Description:
When loading an XC4000E .VSM file for a design containing the OSC4 component,
ViewSim will give this warning message:

Could not open VHDL file 'osc4.vli'.
Unrecognized component type OSC4, instance name $1I1. Module ignored.

Solution 1:

To avoid this message, from the XACTstep CD in the \proser\unified\xc4000
directory, copy the BEHV directory to the unified\xc4000e directory within
the installation of the Viewlogic interface. This will make the xc4000e
library tree look like the xc4000 tree.

Also, you must use XSimmake to create the .VSM for the timing flow. So, if
you are using PROflow, when preparing for FUNCTIONAL simulation, you must
check the box that says:
"Design contains XBLOX, RAM, ROM, or XABEL Modules", even if this is not
the case. Checking this box will run Xsimmake for the functional
simulation flow. Then, when preparing for timing simulation, Xsimmake will
be forced to run and the OSC4 problem will be avoided.
