PPR error 5812 - Constraint file error


Problem Description:


PPR: Error 5812: Constraint file instance 'Macro/$1I321 could not be match to a
constainable instance in net list.


Solution 1:

Here are a few things to check for:

The immediate cause of ppr error 5812 is that something in the CST
file cannot be found in the design netlist.
The root cause could be one of several things, depending on the
design entry method:

1) The instance in question was renamed by the user (most likely
to happen in schematic entry).
2) The instance in question was renamed by some software tool
(most likely to happen during VL import to Foundation, or
VHDL/Verilog/ABEL recompile).
3) The instance has been trimmed by XNFPREP (most likely when
schematic changes have been made that may affect connectivity).
So you should look carefully at the instance name reported
in the error.  If it comes from the Verilog code (which is most
likely), then it's simply a fact of life with HDL compilers: most
instances get renamed every time you recompile.
If the instance is an I/O pin or a gate on the schematic, then you
should check the XNFPREP trimming report.  Maybe something got
disconnected on the schematic, causing some things to get trimmed.
