Record #1692

Product Family: Hardware

Product Line: 1700D

Problem Title:
17256D PROM recall--device ID errors (two lot codes only)

Problem Description:
The following two lot numbers for XC17256D PROMs are currently being recalled
due to missing device IDs:

XC17256DPC20C:	645508 & 645680

These parts were shipped to Hamilton and some major accounts...

SYMPTOM: "Device ID Error" from both Xilinx programmer software (hw130, XPP)
and 3rd party programmer software - when trying to program a 17256D PROM in
the PC20 package from either of these date codes.

Date codes are marked on the top of the PROM package.

Solution 1:

WHAT CUSTOMERS SHOULD DO:

Contact your distributor or sales representative to obtain an RMA
(Return Merchandise Authorization) to authorize replacement of the parts,
and send the defective parts back to either the distributor or Xilinx,
whichever is applicable.
