XC1765DPD8C PROM: "Selected algorithm (1765D) is not correct for the device in the socket (1736D)"

Record #1697

Product Family: Hardware

Product Line: 1700D

Problem Title:
XC1765DPD8C PROM: "Selected algorithm (1765D) is not correct for the
device in the socket (1736D)"

Problem Description:
Parts marked as 1765's from lot code 621360 may have been programmed
internally as 1736 parts.

SYMPTOMS:

ERROR: "Selected algorithm (1765D) is not correct for the device in the
socket (1736D)".

This message is issued by the programmer software (hw130, XPP, or third party
software).

Xilinx received a sample of the XC1765DPD8C (marked XC1765DPC) with
date code 621360 from Europe. The part was marked as a 1765 but internally
was programmed as a 1736. There is a strong possibility that the entire lot
was affected, so Xilinx has decided to recall these parts.

PARTS AFFECTED:

Only 1765D's in the PD8 package from lot code 621360 have
shown this problem.

Solution 1:

WHAT CUSTOMERS SHOULD DO:

Contact your distributor or sales representative to obtain an RMA
(Return Merchandise Authorization) to authorize replacement of the parts,
and send the defective parts back to either the distributor or Xilinx,
whichever is applicable.
