Makeprom: Where can I find a Workstation version of psplit?
Problem Description:
Keywords: psplit, makeprom, prom, split
Urgency: Standard
General Description:
psplit is a utility for splitting a prom file into multiple files
so multiple proms can program an FPGA or daisy chain of FPGAs. Where
can I find an SunOS, Solaris, or HP version of this utility?
Solution 1:
If you are using the Prom File Formatter 6.0.1 (PC only) or M1
(Win95, WinNT, Solaris, SunOS, HPUX), the PROM splitting capability
is builtin to the software. Use psplit if you are using the MAKEPROM
software to create PROMS; it does not have PROM splitting
capabilities.
The Solaris and SunOS versions of psplit can be found on the Xilinx
bbs at: /pub/utilities/prom/psplit_sun.tar.Z or on the Xilinx web
at (Xilinx File ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/utilities/prom/psplit_sun.tar.Z).
The HPUX versions of psplit can be found on the Xilinx
bbs at: /pub/utilities/prom/psplit_hp.tar.Z or on the Xilinx web
at (Xilinx File ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/utilities/prom/psplit_hp.tar.Z).
The files contain the program and a readme.txt file explaining how to
use psplit.
