DATA I/O v5.3 algorithm 1700D programming failures: Device will not program, fails low voltage verify, CEO fails to assert

Record #1821

Product Family: Hardware

Product Line: 1700D

Problem Title:
DATA I/O v5.3 algorithm 1700D programming failures: Device will not
program, fails low voltage verify, CEO fails to assert

Problem Description:
Keywords: Data I/O io program 1700D 3900 2900 2700 Autosite Unisite ChipLab 5.3
 prom

Urgency: Hot

General Description:
DATA I/O Programming algorithm v 5.3 for ALL Data I/O programmers
fails to program Xilinx serial PROMS properly.

Three possible error messages:

"Device will not program"
"Fails low voltage verify"
"CEO failed to assert"

Solution 1:

Data I/O has been alerted to this and is working on a patch, which
they will be making available on their BBS, (206)-882-3211.

Contact Data I/O directly to obtain the required patch.
To check on availability, call (206-881-6444).

There is no workaround other than to use an HW-130 or other
3rd party programmer.

UPDATE, 2/20/97: The patched algorithms will be made available on Data I/O's
BBS and FTP site starting the week of February 24.

Note that the algorithms that are on the BBS or FTP Site do NOT have
revision numbers--they are only listed by device. Only the final
released software has the version number assigned.

V5.4 will be shipping the 3rd week of March, and these fixes will be a
part of that release.
