Foundation: Netlist Conversion Error Missing pin <pin> of <symbol> or library error

Record #1838

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Aldec

Problem Title:
Foundation: Netlist Conversion Error Missing pin <pin> of <symbol> or
library error

Problem Description:
Keywords: netlist conversion error xnf missing pin library
 error
Urgency: Standard

General Description:
While exporting a netlist or creating an XNF file from a
schematic, you get the following error:

Netlist Conversion Error
Missing pin <pin_name> of <symbol_name> or library error

Solution 1:

A possible cause is that a pin on a user-created symbol has
been given a pin number.

In the Symbol Editor, there is a Pin Number field that can be
filled in when a pin is added or edited. This field should
only be used for board-level simulation, and is not valid for
normal macro symbols.

Leave the Pin Number field blank when creating or editing
symbols. If a pin number has already been assigned, select
the pin in the Symbol Editor and delete the Pin Number field.
