Problem Title:
Foundation: Service Pack Install - Setup will not run
Problem Description:
Keywords: Foundation, Install, Setup, Service Pack
Urgency: Standard
General Description:
When installing the Foundation Service Pack (SPXA.EXE,
SPXB.EXE, or SPXV.EXE), after the setup files have been
extracted the following message is issued:
SETUP requires _SETUP.DLL and _ISRES.DLL (located in
_SETUP.LIB) in order to operate properly. Please ensure these
files are located with SETUP.EXE.
Solution 1:
The installation program creates a temporary installation
environment in the directory specified by the TEMP variable.
This error can occur when the TEMP variable is not set
properly, or if the TEMP directory has too many files in it.
To set the TEMP variable:
1. In autoexec.bat add the following line:
SET TEMP=C:\TEMP
2. Create the directory C:\TEMP.
3. Restart the computer before running the install program
again.
If you already have TEMP set, try the following:
1. Shut down all Windows applications.
2. Delete all files from the temporary directory.
3. Retry installation.
Solution 2:
This error may also occur if the PC does not have the correct
version of Foundation installed.
The Foundation Service Pack may only be used on a PC which has
Foundation 6.0.1 installed. It may not be installed over
Foundation 6.0.0.
