XSimmake 5.2.1, Workview Office 7.3.0 or newer: check/vsm_ngui fail under XSimmake script
Record #2011
Product Family: Software
Product Line: FPGA Core
Problem Title:
XSimmake 5.2.1, Workview Office 7.3.0 or newer: check/vsm_ngui fail
under XSimmake script
Problem Description:
Keyword : Workview Office, XACT, Xsimmake, check, vsm, simulation
Urgency : Hot
General Description:
With Workview Office 7.3.0 or greater, check.exe and vsm_ngui.exe fail when
called by the XSimmake script.
The cause of this problem is that Viewlogic has upgraded these two programs
to be 32-bit DOS applications. Unfortunately, it is impossible for XSIMMAKE,
a 16-bit DOS application, to call these programs directly.
Solution 1:
A patch exists on the Xilinx FTP site that is intended for Workview Office
versions 7.3 and newer. The file is found at:
ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/viewlogic/wvosim73.zip. The readme.txt
in this patch gives instructions about what to copy and where.
NOTE 1: This patch is NOT for use with Xilinx M1.
NOTE 2: This patch is not required for Intelliflow users.
This patch provides two 16-bit programs, check16.exe and vsm16.exe, which are
simply wrappers that call the new 32-bit versions of CHECK and VSM_NGUI.
Also included in the patch is a new XSIMMAKE.XFW that will call these 16-bit
wrappers. No other files are needed.
NOTE 3: This patch was fixed on 11 July 1997 to fix a CPLD/VSM flow problem.
