CONCEPT XC5200: <COMPERR> ERROR(195): Cannot open specified attributes file, File name=/tmp/property.dat4291

Record #2121

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Cadence

Problem Title:
CONCEPT XC5200: <COMPERR> ERROR(195): Cannot open specified attributes
file, File name=/tmp/property.dat4291

Problem Description:
Keywords: concept attributes file open property.dat
concept2xnf 5k 5200

Urgency: standard

General Description:
The following error may be observed in XC5200 designs which
utilize the OSC macro:

 *********************************
 *  Reading property attributes  *
 *********************************

<COMPERR> ERROR(195): Cannot open specified attributes
 file
	   File name=/tmp/property.dat4291

There may be a line in the compiler.cmd file that pointing to
a property.dat file--for example, /tmp/property.dat4291.

Explanation:
When processing an XC5200 design containing an OSC macro,
CONCEPT2XNF builds a file called /tmp/property.dat<process_id>
containing directives needed to handle the DIVIDE1_BY and
DIVIDE2_BY properties correctly for the 5K OSC macro. After
building this file, it moves the existing compiler.cmd file to
a temporary file called /tmp/compiler.cmd<process_id>.

It then creates a new, local, compiler.cmd file that points to
the new property.dat file and also contains all the information
from the original compiler.cmd file. All of this is done so
that the compiler and CAEViews will handle the properties (the
OSC properties mentoned, as well as SIZE, etc.) correctly.

After running concept2xnf.exe, the original compiler.cmd file
is restored and the files in /tmp are removed.

The existence of the line pointing to a property.dat file
in the compiler.cmd may be the result of an interruption
in the concept2xnf process which prevents the restoration of
the original compiler.cmd.

Solution 1:

The solution is to delete the property.dat file in /tmp, and
to also delete the line in the compiler.cmd file referencing
property.datxxxx, then reprocess the design.
