General Description:

The M1 Pre-release software, version M1.2.11 may exhibit the
following error during Implementation of a CPLD design.

Win95 will error out after hitop has been executed:
"PROGRAM ABNORMALLY TERMINATED"

WinNT will pop up a dialog box saying:
hitop.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005). Address 0a70616872

fe.log shows that taengine was the last program to run and the
timing report shows

Error:rg120 - The file'Step'['.vm6'|'.ref'] is missing.

Error:hi421 - Loading design step failed.
Please check that the fitter completed successfully and
generated a valid .vm6 file.


Solution 1:

Hitop crashes whem there are more than 2000 characters in the
message buffer.

There is a patch to fix this problem.

Get the patch from the Xilinx File Download area
in Software Help->CPLD.

available on PC, Sun and HP platforms.

Please note that the dates listed in each file description
refers to the
date that the file was added to the patch, not the file creation date. The
file version is the version number displayed when the executable name is
entered on the command line.

You should always update ALL OF THE FILES contained in each patch, otherwise
results may be unpredictable.

Symptom:  Abnormal program termination.

This patch is to correct the current message manager problem which causes the
fitter to terminate abnormally when there is a large message to be reported.
The patch is a single share library for NT/Win95, Sun, Solaris,and HP
platforms.  To incorporate the patch into the current software, replace the
following for your specific platform:

for NT/Win95: replace libeplzz.dll in %XILINX%/bin/nt with libeplzz.dll
for Sun     : replace libeplzz.so.1.0 in %XILINX%/bin/sun with libeplzz.so.1.0
for Solaris : replace libeplzz.so in %XILINX%/bin/sol with libeplzz.so
for HP	    : replace libeplzz.sl in %XILINX%/bin/hp with libeplzz.sl
