M1.3/M1.4 JTAG Programmer: Files are "missing" when programming across platforms

Record #2273

Product Family: Software

Product Line: EPLD Core

Problem Title:
M1.3/M1.4 JTAG Programmer: Files are "missing" when programming across
platforms

Problem Description:
Keywords: JTAG Programmer, missing, network

Urgency: Standard

General Description:

When programming XC9500 devices with the JTAG Programmer
software, if any of the JED files being used is located across
a network AND on another platform than what is being used to
run the JTAG Programmer, the software may claim that the JED
files specified are missing.

Solution 1:

This is due to the fact that the syntax in which the network
path is specified will not be understood across platforms.

For example, a file which is located on a PC in the path:

I:\JEDEC\FILES\FF1.JED

will not be understood by the UNIX tools, and similarly from
a UNIX Workstation to a PC.

The workaround is to move all the JED files to a location on
the same platform as that which is being used to program the
devices.
