NGDBUILD: Core dump when trying to translate XNF files for 7K devices

Record #2292

Product Family: Software

Product Line: Merged Core

Problem Title:
NGDBUILD: Core dump when trying to translate XNF files for 7K devices

Problem Description:
Keywords: ngdbuild, core dump, 7300, CPLD, xnf, translation, m1

Urgency: standard

General Description:

Ngdbuild will issue a segmentation fault (core dumped) when
trying to translate a 7K XNF netlist.

If you have any existing XNF netlists generated by XABEL's
PLUSASM flow or XACT 6.x PLUSASM flow or that contain any 7K
arithmetic components or that contain any DFF symbols with CE
input pins, they can not be read by the XACT-M1 translator for
the CPLD families (both 7K and 9K).

Solution 1:

For 7K arithmetic designs, you must create a new XNF netlist
based on the XACT-M1 schematic macro library

Solution 2:

For PLUSASM generated XNFs use the .PLD file as the design
input instead of the XNF.
