Configuration: Enabling Express Mode through the Design Manager
Problem Description:
Keywords: Express Mode, XC4000EX, XC4000XL CRC
Urgency: Hot
General Description:
When using XC4000EX/XC4000XL Express Mode, CRC must be disabled. This
is done automatically if Express Mode is specified when generating
the bitstream.
Solution 1:
To specify Express Mode, go into Template Manager (Utilities in Design
Manager) and modify or create a new configuration template. Go to the
Customize screen and add the following option:
Program Name: bitgen
Program Options: -g ExpressMode:Enable
To specify Express Mode, from the Design Manager menu, select
Utilities->Template Manager. In the Template Manager:
Select - Configuration Templates
Select - <Family Type>
Select - Customize
In the Customize dialog:
For Program Name enter: bitgen
For Program Options enter: -g ExpressMode:Enable
Click - Set
Click - OK
In the Options dialog, make sure that the Configuration template
that you customized is selected. When the configuration step is run,
the -g ExpressMode:Enabled option will be passed to the bitgen command.
