M1: Win95/NT license, lmutil lmhostid returns hostid of 0 or FFFFFFFF
Problem Description:
Keywords: lmutil, lmhostid, ethernet, hostid, license
Urgency: standard
Problem Description:
'%XILINX%\bin\nt\lmutil lmhostid -ether' within Windows returns:
lmutil.exe - Copyright (C) 1989-1994 Globetrotter Software, Inc.
The FLEXlm host ID of this machine is "000000000000"
Solution 1:
The appropriate driver for your Ethernet protocol must be installed.
For example, if your system requires the `NWLink IPX/SPX' network driver,
it must be installed like so:
Put the Windows 95 or NT system disk in the CDROM drive.
Select `START'
Select `Control Panel'
Select `Network'
Select `Add'
Add the NWLink IPX SPX driver.
Other drivers are installed in similar fashion.
Why do I need to include the appropriate Ethernet protocol driver?
This is necessary for either obtaining the Ethernet card address
and to provide connectivity with a Netware License server.
