XC1700/PROMs: What is the unprogrammed/default state of each byte address in an XC1700 PROM?

Record #2571

Product Family: Hardware

Product Line: 1700

Problem Title:
XC1700/PROMs: What is the unprogrammed/default state of each byte
address in an XC1700 PROM?

Problem Description:
Keywords: Default, Unprogrammed, State, Address, Prom, 1700

Urgency: Standard

General Description
The question often arises as to what the unprogrammed
state of an XC1700/D/L/E PROM is.

Solution 1:

The unprogrammed state of each byte address is 'FFH', or in
other words, each bit is programmed to a '1'. This includes
the byte addresses that control the PROM programmable reset
polarity, which causes the polarity to default to active
HIGH reset.
