Product Line: FPGA Core
Problem Title:
Prom File Formatter M1.3:Adding 3000, 5200, 4000 devices to daisy chain
or prom
Problem Description:
Keywords: daisy, chain, promgen, prom, formatter, 3000, 5200, 4000, patch
Urgency: Hot
General Description:
The M1.3 software will not allow you to add any bitstream
in the xc3000 or xc5200 family to a PROM file. The software
also does not allow you to add xc4000 (original non-e, non-ex,
non-xl) devices to a PROM file.
Solution 1:
The patches below will enable you to add xc3000, xc5200, and
xc4000 devices to your PROM file. The patch will not allow
you to implement designs for these parts. Select the patch
that matches your operating system:
Sun Os:
(Xilinx File ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/M1.3_alliance/3k5k4kdaisysn.tar.gz)
Solaris:
(Xilinx File ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/M1.3_alliance/3k5k4kdaisysl.tar.gz)
HP
(Xilinx File ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/M1.3_alliance/3k5k4kdaisyhp.tar.gz)
Windows 95 or Windows NT
(Xilinx File ftp://ftp.xilinx.com/pub/swhelp/M1.3_alliance/daisynt.zip)
Installation/Use (Example uses Solaris file):
1. cd $XILINX
2. Copy 3k5k4kdaisysn.tar.gz to $XILINX
3. gunzip 3k5k4kdaisysn.tar.gz
4. tar xvf 3k5k4kdaisysn.tar
Solution 2:
For PC users download daisynt.zip
Solution 3:
To install the PC version,
1. Copy daisynt.zip to where M1 is installed (c:\xilinx\)
2. unarchive the files into that directory using pkunzip w/ -d:
pkunzip -d daisynt.zip
3. The files will be unzipped into their corresponding subdirectories.
