When Workview Office is installed under Windows NT 4.0, a port driver must
be installed so the hardware key may be seen. Without this driver, opening
ViewDraw (or any other licensed tool) will produce these error messages:
vsec: Error 8037: License node restriction does not match client's node for
product ViewDraw.
+vsec: Error 8031: Flex/LM Error: Invalid host (-9,57:2) No such file or
directory
Also, clicking on the Tech Support button after selecting About Workview
Office from the Workview Office toolbar or the Project Manager will show the
Hostid to be "Unknown".
Solution 1:
Follow these steps to install the Sentinel driver for Windows NT 4.0:
Note: In order to perform these steps you must have Administrative privileges.
If you do not have this authority, contact your system administrator.
1. Select Start->Settings->Control Panel
2. Double-click on Multimedia
3. Select the Devices tab
4. Click the Add button
5. With "Unlisted or Updated driver" highlighted, click OK
6. With the Workview Office CD in the drive, browse to the Sentinel directory
(i.e. D:\sentinel\) and click OK
7. Select "Sentinel for i386 systems" and click OK
8. All of the port settings will be automatically set. Click OK to accept
the settings.
9. Restart Windows NT for this driver to take effect.
Solution 2:
In Windows NT 4.0, there is a possibility for the Sentinel driver does not
start up properly. You can check the status of the Sentinel Driver under
Control Panel->Devices. The Sentinel Driver's status should be say:
Device Status Startup
-------- --------- ---------
Sentinel Started Automatic
If the Status does not show as Started, you can highlight Sentinel driver and
click on Start. If you receive an error saying that the dependency service or
group failed to start, you will need to follow the instructions listed below:
1) Close all applications and make sure nothing is running.
2) Delete the snti386.dll file in the c:\Winnt\system32 directory.
3) Re-start the computer.
4) Follow the directions in Resolution 1.
