Foundation F1.3/F1.4, XABEL: DIOEDA errors involving abl2edif
Problem Description:
Keywords: ABEL, abl2edif, DIOEDA, hkey, F1
Urgency: Standard
General Description:
When trying to synthesize ABEL code, Foundation will sometimes
give an error of the form:
HDE: XABEL - XABEL is not installed (registry key
DIOEDA/Products/XABELM1/paths/Bin does not point to abl2edif.exe)
Solution 1:
This particular error is a result of incorrect registry.
The path to abl2edif.exe must be corrected.
1) Make sure that abl2edif is installed in the Xilinx\bin\nt directory.
2) Go to Start -> Run and type regedit in the box. Click OK.
3) Under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT follow this path:
DIOEDA/Products/XABELM1/paths/Bin
4) Edit the registry entry to match the path to where
abl2edif can be found on your system. By default, it is
under C:\Xilinx\bin\nt. Make sure that this information is
correct.
Exit the registry editor.
5) Try to re-synthesize the ABEL file.
